I installed category module. The wrapper modules are not getting displayed in the modules. I tried to install wrappers manually but I get an error message displayed as "The file book.module.php could not be found. Unable to perform the specified operation." I changed the installation files from modulename.module, modulename.inc, modulename.install to php files. When I again installed from category->settings, the installation is successful, but again the wrapper module are not displayed in the modules. Please help.

The category module is still an Alpha release for D6. That says to me that it probably has some issues still. Try going through the issue queue for that module to see if you can find some answers.
