It'd be great to be able to add some help text/information onto the user registration page above the "Subscribe me to:" part.

Hi jackread,

I take it you mean in the anonymous sign-up block ? You can use the standard block configuration provided by Drupal to add in whatever text you want above the email box. Look in "Site Building" - "Blocks" and the configuration of the 'PHPList subscribe' block.

Let me know if I've got the wrong end of the stick!
