In /admin/build/menu, I can't disable "Create content". It only shows "edit" and won't let me "disable" or "delete". How do I get rid of this menu item in my Navigation bar?

Well, the counter-intuitive
Well, the counter-intuitive way to do this is to disable all of the links *under* the "Create Content" menu item in /admin/build/menu. After this is done, "Create Content" still shows as active, but does not appear in the menu. IMO this could be a little more clear, because I only discovered it by trial and error. I hate troubleshooting by trial and error.
Move it to another menu
Another option is to create another menu and move the create content item to it. Then don't use that menu.
There are many things that are annoying with Drupal especially when you start customising and changing the default layout and functions but this happens with any system as soon as you move away from it's defaults. The difference with Drupal is that you can change the way it works and looks relatively easy. (and it is constantly improving)
Every now and then I try out other products and they all have their strengths but nothing has the flexibility of Drupal but sometimes you have to think outside the box.
But I agree sometimes it is very annoying.
