make calendar optional

Description
I'd like to see adding to the calendar option for tasks....some tasks are just immediate things-to-do that don't need a date attached to them at all where other tasks need to be scheduled in the future.
And then just those tasks could have the repeat event enabled for it.
Can anyone make this happen?
