SlickDeals.net-esque Is something similar possible using Drupal?

goodluck4287 - November 11, 2008 - 23:01

I would like to create a deals site using Drupal as my engine... (for lack of a better metaphor). It will have several features that will differentiate it from similar sites, for now, the basic functionality...

Features that I need that maybe the Drupal community can help me out with:

-Expandable Entries inline with the others (much like slickdeals), and preferably a classy css transition to expand them

-Ability to post small thumbnails in the entries

-Ability to login once and have access to comment entries, and have a forum, preferably phpbb instead of drupal's built in module (again, with one login token for both)

-Clicktracking, data collection, clickthrough rates, mouse motion heatmap, click heatmap

If anyone can help or make suggestions, that would be amazing!

A few suggestions...

"Expandable Entries inline"

Views plus some jquery could do that.

"Ability to login once and have access to comment entries, and have a forum, preferably phpbb"

Drupal has a phpbb bridge but also has a perfectly capable built in forum.

"Clicktracking, data collection, clickthrough rates, mouse motion heatmap, click heatmap"

There is a module for click tracking but I don't know how extensive it is. The rest I'm not sure on as it's not something I've looked at.
