It would be extremely useful if I could subscribe not to any particular node, but rather receive an alert when any node containing a particular keyword is published.

So for example, if I wanted to subcribe to all posts containing the word "drupal", it would email me whenever a new post containing that term was published.

Hello,

Sorry to ask here but i am looking for a module that could send an alert when posts containing some illegal words are published, because some spammers are posting about viagra or casino which google Adsense doesn't like.

I think you can knock this up using views and views subscriptions/notifications.

Also if you have anonymous comments enabled I suggest you use the http://drupal.org/project/recaptcha reCAPTCHA module, which effectively removed all spam from my site.
