Is there a way to generate thumbnails (on image upload) using the fckeditor?

I know IMCE exist - but that seems to be an overkill.
I just need something simple - when the user browse to upload the image (in fckeditor) - it also generates a thumbnail file too.

Take a look at the image browser module, it might do the trick for you.
