This is a great module. I was wonder a good enhancement is a way to tell if a 6x version of the module is available. This would help many people to know when they should upgrade to 6x and what modules will be available once they do.

Well, the purpose of this module is to install the 5.x version on Drupal 5.x, and get an overview of all installed modules and their availability in 6.x.
If you want the same for 6.x (while 7.x is not yet available), then this is a duplicate of #297335: Port Upgrade Status/Assist to 6.x.
