can i do this with "Views Tabs" - one new page (frontpage) is simply a few tabs, each is a node?

Issue Summary

sounds like it, but i'm a bit unclear

what i want to do is have a few tabs running across the home page - a simple information link set, each one is really just a 'short node' and so across top it might say:

Create Groups! | Write Stories | Share Events | etc..

and 'create groups' is just a node titled 'create groups' with some content in it...as are the others...is that the basic idea?
