Organising Content

Hi All,

I'm currently looking at converting my dreamweaver static site to a dynamic drupal one. I've been reading up on the matter and have come along way. Unfortunately I've hit a bit of a stumbling block and would appreciate any pointers anybody can give me.

I'd run a video tutorial website, so when I post my videos I would do so using a node, which is fine. The problem I have is how the node displays on the homepage/content page. I'd like to get things looking similar to the way it is now-

I don't need it to look exactly like that, just oganise the content in a less-bloogy way that happens by default.

Thanks for your time

Matt

the taxonomy module (comes with core) is what you would use to organize the content by tagging the nodes with terms that you create in administer -> taxonomy.

lists beyond that which core will create for you can be created with the views.module. This module can be found in the downloads area. If your wants are simpiler you can investigate the indexpage.module or the simple views.module

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I've been reading up on taxonomy and learning loads, so thanks for the hints there. Is there any way to make articles as they display, on say the homepage, to look less bloggy. Can I change the appearance to match the page linked above in my original post?
Thanks for your help!
Matt

That would be done with themeing. see: http://mustardseedmedia.com/podcast for a drupal example of the same layout.

The theme developers guide will help get you on your way and if you aren't already using, get the firefox browser with the firebug addon
