location of html?

i want to edit the html for my site, but what folder is it located in?

It's in the database-- that's the entire point of a cms. If you want static html files you're better off using something like dreamweaver.

It is made on the fly.

The HTML for your site is made on the fly, as needed. The original node content is stored in its source format and various filters are applied in series to generate the appropriate html string. It is a very important concept in Drupal and esssential to get it! The separation of content (mostly text only), and presentation (any mark-up or layout directives).

If you want to alter the HTML of the theme itself. Start with working through the theme developers guide.

beyond that firefox browser with the firebug addon works wonders with helping to fish out the css being used and from where.

Perhaps you want to change the look of the site - such as modifying the theme? I this what you mean?
