Have upgraded to Drupal 6.6 and requires emfield module to introduce 'embed video' functionality to the website.

Can the present 6.x-1.0-alpha4 version be installed on our live website?
Or is it better to wait for the next release?

It can be used, though I'd suggest waiting until the next release (which will be Beta1 since we have added in some major improvements and fixes), since I know at least one function that is giving errors (google.inc).
