Flags!

I set up a 'poke' flag. So it would be nice if I get a 'user has poked you' message in your heartbeat. :)

Ok, fair enough.
If this is the kind of messages like "user slaps user2 in the face with a rotten fish" , implementation is needed :)

there is an issue about rules flag integration in the flag issue queue.. once this is in, this issue should be solved too.

Flag messages are built in heartbeat now and available as default messages with ONE default rule and a custom flag action. You can add your own flag messages as long as you tag them as so.
A bit related to this , is the shout message. This is much like twitter and facebook what are you doing widget. The messages can be shown within the personal and/or public heartbeat.

Flag is one of the coolest modules, and it will soon have #298109: Rules integration.

I did this in two ways: with the rules event for flagging
and from custom code calling heartbeat_api_log in the flag hook.
You can even flag such activity messages from flagging events.
