problems with CristalX4Drupal-5.x-1.0 theme

we are using drupal CMS for the first time.we used CristalX4 theme and drupal 5.x. we were able to create few menus for the site and display them. but the menus which we have set to display in the right/left bars displays in the content.but this happens only the first(front) page.in all the other pages they display correctly.we tried to fix it using block settings. i can gurantee that there is no problem in the settings. we can't find any solution. plz help .
