Using Drupal XML-RPC with Google Docs
Google Documents supports posting documents to most popular blog sites including Drupal via the Blogger API, MetaWeblog API or Movable Type API APIs. This document sets out the steps to configure the Drupal Blog API and Google Docs.
Your Drupal administrator should enable XML-RPC via the Blog API Module and then configure the access control for the blogapi module.
To specify your blog settings, and instruct Google Docs to publish to the blog of your choice, follow these instructions:
- Click Share in the upper right corner of your Docs page.
- Select "Publish as a web page.."
- Select "You can change your blog site settings at any time."
- Enter the requested server information as follows;
- Select "My own server / custom"
- API = MoveableType API
- URL = http://yoursite.com/xmlrpc.php
- Enter the requested user information as follows;
- Username
- Password
Once this is done, you will be able to publish your documents to the blog you selected. If you'd like to publish to a different blog in the future, simply re-enter your blog settings.
After these settings are in place, you can post any document to this blog. To do so, follow these instructions:
- From the Docs Edit page, click on "Publish as web page" from the Share menu in the upper right corner.
- Click "Post to blog."
Once this document has been published to your blog, the time and date of this posting will be displayed.
