Hi,
I needed this, so I wrote it (use [inline:all] or [inline:*] to get a
- list of attachments). Here it is if you want to do anything with it.

sunI can see your idea and motivation since I was looking for the same functionality.
From an administrative view I would not say that this addition makes any sense. If someone wants this functionality one would probably create a new node type, displaying all attached images in a special flavour.
Furthermore, after having a short look at it, I saw that your code is bypassing the whole filter functionality, so this patch does not make sense to me at all...
