pdf file shows in iframe

I have added an iframe field to a content type. I also have a filefield in that content type. What I would like to do is display all the filefields in the iframe as links based on the description and then when a user clicks on the links have the pdf file open inside the iframe. It would be nice to be able to click between the list and the document inside the frame.

My idea would be that if the php code could read the array of the filefields inside and display them as links.
This may be a feature request, if so change the category. But any help would be very much appreciated.
I have tried searching through the forums with no avail.
