Well that all depends on your theme layout and css skills I believe.
If you can manage to alter your theme in such a way that you can z-index your body text region over your header image region then yes. I don't think it's a question if the module can do this for ya but if you can do it for your theme?!
Or am I completely misunderstanding your question?!?

nancydruI didn't think of that. I use z-index so rarely. At any rate, I have found another solution.
