Can't see what I am typing in Forum

Description
I love this theme, but when users of the site (www.signout.ie) click on the forum they are not able to see what they are typing, for two reasons:
1) The text colour is the same as the background colour of the text input field (I'm not sure what the correct names for these things are).
2) The text input area is partially blocked by the right-hand sidebar.
I'm kind of new to drupal and doing this site as a favour for our local youth centre. Any help would be great.
