so this is an excellent feature set - but should this not be used if one is already using CCK on d6? will these modules conflict (because there is only one 'manage fields' tab)?

This module actually requires CCK, because a hook allows it to add items to the 'Manage Fields' page generated by the content module. This module does not actually provide the 'Manage Fields' page.

oh, so now i'm a little unclear - what fields would it be adding? or is this for effecting the weights on the node view page that users see?

The latter - the 'Manage Fields' page is only used to change the relative weights of the taxonomy fields within the node form. Fields are not added, they are simple rearranged so that they better fit the flow of the form.

ah, thanks - now i've gotta install it because i was pounding my head doing manual weight changes with a form editor !!
