I've spent a full day (8 hours of otherwise billable time) looking for the RIGHT answer to this problem. All the threads point to various causes and fixes. I'm specifying Drupal 6.6 because I don't want to muck up my site with outdated, irrelevant code, patches or changes. This newbie would think, given all the threads on this topic, that new versions of the same CMS would not have the problem. I guess I'm just idealistic.

If some kind Drupal soul will respond with a means to contact them directly, I'll grant full Super Admin access to the site - and pay for assistance. I have no more time to screw around with such a stupid issue.

sorry, I don't understand from your subject line. You mean you installed it but can't login? If so, can you also post a URL and info your hosting setup?

Currently, I have the site live under my name... I plan to switch it to the proper domain upon client payment:

Hosting setup is GoDaddy, Linux server "2.0", PHP 5.x. Is that what you're looking for?

You installed, right, and created the user 1 ,the admin user, but you say it doesn't let you in?

Any chance you mis-typed the password when you created that user? I'm just trying to figure out what is going on.

I installed drupal 6.6 twice and both times as soon as I logged out, I was not able to login with my Admin Login and Psswd.
