Hi
I did upgrade from buddylist1 to friendlist (it doesn't run correctly but it is another bug)
but I lost my mind when I found that the friendlist sent thousands email to my users
(you have requested..., you added, xxx request you to..., xxx added you..)
This is really unwanted behaviour. It will be correct if the system will send email by rules after requesting/adding relationships, but not retroactively, it makes no sense when each user got tons of mails about his buddylist activity for last x years...
thanks
Igorik

mercmobily commentedHi,
The CRUCIAL thing is that you disable "rules" when you run the importer.
That will prevent emails to be sent. I am 99% sure that's what is going on.
Considering it closed -- reopen if I am wrong.
Sorry about this... I added a warning to each importer to disable RULES.
Merc.

igorik commentedHi Merc
you are right with point for rules.
If you add the warning into your module readme (module page) then it will be ok. Without any warning it is hard to assume that something like this (retroactive sending) happens.
thanks

mercmobily commentedHi,
You are _totally_ right.
Sorry about this...
Warning added in BIG FAT letters to the importers' pages.
Merc.
