Any directions on how to create a gallery?

The documentation is quite clear I think. Create two content types, one for gallery and 2nd is for image. Go to Node Gallery settings page, assign those two content types and you're done. you need to create a gallery before you upload your images.

I think that instead of saying "Create a gallery" you could specify that you mean create a node of the gallery content-type right? Users may not have named that content type "gallery" and it could be confused with the "Add" gallery function on the Node Gallery administreation page.

Also, the info on the project page isn't written in fluent English. I can edit it for you if you want.

Er... this is really hard to find out. In the third attempt I got there.

One just would not guess you really have to create the node before you can upload images. This would appear totally illogical normally, and is very unusual.
So a Doc Page with some Screenshots would do the job, for when you know how to do it, it is not that hard.

I have not been able to get a gallery to work with this yet. I would like to contribute documentation and support this module, as I think it is the best gallery solution (in concept). Here are my basic instructions, however I get a "Validation Error" when submitting an image. Can anyone help me complete the instructions? I'll gladly make a proper install handbook with screen captures if I can get this working...

Node Gallery 6.x-1.0-alpha3 instructions

1. Activate "Upload" Core module
2. Install Imagecache module
3. Install Node Gallery module
4. Create content types for Gallery and Images

• Go to Content Magement > Content Types > Add content type
• Create a content type for Galleries (ie - name: "Gallery" machine name "gallery")
• Create a content type for Images (ie - name: "Gallery Image"; machine name "gallery_image")

• Name the Gallery - (ie - Gallery1)
• Set gallery type to the content type you created for galleries (ie "Gallery")
• Set image type to the content type you created for images (ie "Gallery Image")
• Click Next
• Select the filed you want to incorporate
• Check Title
• Check Body
• Set the Gallery Directory (ie - "%gid")
• Set the Image Sizes using the presets created in step 7
• Set teaser settings
• Complete other settings

The images are uploaded to the files directory, as I have configured (and despite the Validation Error), but the images will not display in the gallery. They do not show up anywhere at all.

droolpal - you should have gone to node/add/gallery before uploading images. It did not have a gallery to attach the images to.

Followed droolpal's short instructions and created a gallery. Instead of showing, my submitted images are listed as links to nodes (unordered list). Each of these nodes contain a link to one image, which can be viewed. It appears as if I missed at least one major step. When I create a gallery image type, I get a single node with list of attachments, image displays only when clicked. Help very much appreciated...

@sssamci You need to upload the images from the gallery node's "upload" link. You are not supposed to attach files via the node/add/GALLERYIMAGE page.

Is that what you are doing?

Because I couldn't get it to work, I tried also using gallery image:-)

I have installed a language module, but it isn't enabled. So, above mentioned didn't appear. I'm planning to use another test machine for Drupal testing, especially for node gallery...
