I've done a little work on VTiger recently (long time drupal fan BTW) and I can't help but think that drupal would be a sweet cms add-on. So far I have put some hacks together in the users and address module that will create a "Lead" in vtiger whenever a new user signs on. I'd like to go deeper into the ecommerce and product management part of integration though. Right now drupal just acts as a simple SOAP client to vtiger but further integration would change this.

So.. is anyone else intersted in this? Would module maintainers take these kinds of changes to modules?

I know there are some loaded questions in there but I am really just trying to gauge the community to see who might or might not be intersted in this and what their feelings are about integration of this kind.

CiviCRM is a CRM system like VTiger that can be integrated into Drupal and Mambo.

They are apparently looking to build a generalized API to make it easy to tie any CRM system into any CMS system, and they've already talked to Sugar (on which VTiger is based) and Salesforce.

So, you should be able to look at that to see how to integrate VTiger.

I saw that the other day but for some reason didn't even think to look for an API. I'll dig around some more and see what I can do with it.

Thanks,

Has there been any more progress on this project?
I think it would be very worthwhile?

CivicCRM is very much in active development. I don't have a link handy at the moment, but just google on CivicCRM and you'll find lots.

I would like this integration. Follow your indications in http://forums.vtiger.com/viewtopic.php?t=3247 but is outdated.

Thank you ...

Hello,

I have the Vtigercrm module (linked above) working in my Drupal installation. I have added more fields to it and the collected data transfers nicely to Vtiger. However, I need to make the "description" field I have added both accept more words and show a bigger and squared box. Can you help?

Thanks so much,
