The idea for the module is great and I guess pretty unique. This would be great in combination with ubercart in a dvd store, or when you keep a dvd collection on your site. The constant updates on amazon and imdb would require frequent updates to this module though.

first version for drupal 5 online.
thanks for your motivating interest!

parsers/screenscrapers for the various 'web services' are to maintain in their own .inc files. haven't updated the imdb or scholar scraper but supplied a .inc for the ISBNdb site to showcase the approach.

Will there be a Drupal 6 version? I hope so. This module sounds great!

at some day ... for now I hesitate in maintaining various versions (one is often more than enough ;)

but hey, I just tried the 'deadwood' conversion script and it returned the module for version 6. wanna have a go and post here whether it worked?! http://drupal.org/project/deadwood

tried out this deadwood conversion to drupal 6 myself. ... and needed some fixes: code seems to work as attached, but some functionality removed at this time, so am not sure whether it can handle cck fields as it should, but for a start you can try out to get at least title and body filled from wikipedia e.g. -- have fun!
