Panel Tabs Breaks Live Search

Version:5.x-1.2
Component:Code
Category:bug report
Priority:normal

Status:active
Description

On Panel Pages that use Tabs Panel Style to display tabbed content, Live Search (using block display mode) breaks and the standard search block is displayed instead. Throbbing animation shows when a term is entered but no results are returned nor does the "Your search returned no results" display. Tabs Panels work normally. Live search performs normally on pages without Tabs Panel Style.

I'm marking this a Live Search issue because it's the module that is failing, though that may be wrong. This is possibly related to the Live Search / Simple Menu JavaScript problem described here http://drupal.org/node/152125. Any help is very much appreciated.

Module Versions (all latest):
Live Search: 5.x-1.2
Panels: 5.x-rc1a
Tabs Panel Style: 5.x-1.5
Javascript Tools: 5.x-1.2

So apparently this is a Panels Known Issue (http://cvs.drupal.org/viewvc.py/drupal/contributions/modules/panels/KNOW...) with regard to Panels as a whole, but I'm only actually seeing the problem on panels with tabbed panes.

Anyway, for now I'm going with the Panels solution (ie Disable Live Search) but am leaving this as open because that's not actually what I would call a "solution."

Known Issue http://drupal.org/node/274806
When using the Live Search module, various javascript-driven aspects of the
Panels UI stop functioning correctly, and may begin generating error messages.

Cause:
There is a known bug with the Live Search module. There is nothing Panels
can do about it. See http://drupal.org/node/152125
Solution:
Disable the Live Search module.
