For some reason I can't get the theme to recognize custom fav icons and/or logos. I upload them, directory permissions are correct, they work with Drupal default themes, but nothing....

Any suggestions?

Did you try clearing the Drupal cache and <shift> F5 to make sure you are looking at the most current page and not a cached one?
