Instead of choosing a background color for all flash movies, can't it be set to show the default background color that the animation has?

Same problem here. SWF Tools ALWAYS displays the background color!

If you set a background color then SWF Tools will use that. Alternatively if you set wmode = transparent then the underlying page color will show through.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean about displaying the animation background color - if you've set that on a movie then it should just appear?

Doh - see what you mean. This is effectively a duplicate of #536090: bgcolor param shouldn't be required.

DRUPAL-6--3 no longer makes bgcolor a required setting on the configuration page. If the field is left blank then no bgcolor parameter is output, and the movie background color will be used.

Setting this thread to duplicate, and the other thread is at "needs review" as part of the preparation for SWF Tools 6.x-3.x
