Are there any plans on porting this module to drupal 6?
Also if possible, can you make a preview of this module?

This module is a mess by all means so porting this is out of the question currently. My idea is to check out Stella's list of similar modules and find one which provides the same functionality and if not, then get a patch into this other project which would. This way users will have a migration path and this module can retire.

Since the module is very much active with new releases, can this be backported to 6.x?

Probably. I haven't looked to see how much/little work it will take to do a 6.x yet. The first thing I wanted to do was get the long-standing bugs taken care of and then add features. Considering that D8 is probably a good two years out, I don't see the real harm in a 6.x at this time. However, I'm not sure that I would really want to support very many new features (if any) in a 6.x branch at this time.

If anyone wants to submit a patch to backport the 7.x-1.x version of Slidebox to D6, that'd be great.

Currently, I'm trying to work out the best approach to making the 7.x version more of an API, so a D6 backport isn't really a high priority for me at this time. However, I'll keep this issue open in case someone wants to do the dirty work on a D6 backport.

Considering that at this time fewer than 47% of Drupal sites are on D7 (and that number is steadily falling), I'm not going to bother with a D6 version myself.
