Hi all!

I am excited to announce to you my new website, PricePlow.com -- http://www.PricePlow.com

This is a price comparison website for supplements, vitamins, and weight-loss products. It is a free service to help people -- ranging from workout novices to bodybuilders, football players, and triathletes -- find the lowest-cost supplements and vitamins from over 20 stores on the internet.

You can read the first press release at http://www.priceplow.com/press_release_1-priceplow_launch

Please take some time to check the site out. If you are not familiar with supplements and vitamins, a great place to start is at http://www.priceplow.com/recommended_supplements

I chose Drupal for these reasons:
1. It's LAMP-based, which I already dabbled in
2. Tons of users / supporters (you guys!) who came in very handy, especially in IRC
3. Ubercart modules to steal from a bit later (I'm not a store, but will be doing a 'virtual' shopping cart soon)
4. Easy to code modules. My site is almost entirely custom-module and custom database driven
5. Built-in essentials such as user security, a basic blog, and a commenting system API that I can call
6. Themes are easy enough to use

On PricePlow, besides my own supplement modules, we're using
- A modified version of Barron
- Devel was used a lot
- Google Analytics
- Fivestar / votingapi (will be extending this soon)
- returnpath, pathauto, and token

Not exactly the base use case for Drupal, but I love coding with it and I love the community!!

Let me know what you think, send it to your fitness buddies, and feel free to contact me with your resume if you're interested in helping over the next year.

But now it's time to get into the scary stuff - marketing!

Cheers,
Berto

Yeah, what a great way to launch a site - UNDER ATTACK AND DOWN! The host had to take measures, including changing the IP. Things look to be much better now, but I'll keep my eye on it.

If things keep going down, I'm switching to linode.

I see that I'm getting traffic from this forum, and the press release went out today:

Pretty cool stuff. I'm on Google News!

Very nice. I see you've been up for a year now. Congratulations!
I'm curious... where does the money come from? Affiliate sales?

Hi how do you create the price comparison? I'm trying to build a price comparison site, but don't know what modules I need, though I have the feed module already.
