Which version should I install? CVS or non-CVS?

CVS is the version currently under development and therefore by definition unstable, so it depends what you want:

* Latest and greatest features even if they don't necessarily work properly, but you're prepared to test them out (and maybe help identifying problems)? Go for CVS.

* Something stable and solid, suitable for a live site that MUST work properly? Go for the current version (4.6.3).

And don't forget that a lot of the plugin modules may not necessarily be available on CVS
