It was unusable for me due to errors so I tried uninstalling it. I got to the point of disabling Wrapper: Taxonomy and when it took me back to the Modules page, I got this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function taxonomy_get_vocabularies() in .../sites/all/modules/taxonomy_menu/taxonomy_menu.inc on line 153

So now, not only can I not use Category, but I now can't uninstall it and can't use anything else.

Sorry, this looks like a problem when using category in tandem with the taxonomy_menu module. Personally, I've never tried this, so I can't help you.
