Yes - it doesn't matter what the selectivity of the group is.
If it's not already documented, then I should point out that it circumvents the moderation queue -- if your group is moderated and you allow registration via a key, users will automatically be enrolled in your group without going through moderation. Same thing for all group types -- if you provide a key, you are in.

excellent feature. this could be perfect for a youth-oriented community groups feature where teachers face strict rules about content access or viewing rights with children under 13...thanks for the clarification.
