New issue created, because it was out of scope of this original issue, but came out of the new access-by-display access controls in Views 2.x: http://drupal.org/node/316489

Note, these patches *also* fix the bug in that issue by definition. You may want to apply these patches instead of the bug fix if you feel the additional functionality is worthy of inclusion.
