The short description only refers to let referenced users "view" content... but also update and delete are supported.
I almost browsed away, but i thought i'll check out the source first and then i saw the update and delete statements

I gonna check your module out right now, i hope it works like i think it would ;)
i need it to let multiple users edit a specific node (and the default author field doesn't support multiple values)

Ah good point. Let me know how it goes, these abilities were added on a feature request and I haven't really got much feedback about them.
