Safari Search does not work on my site

I have not been able to get this to work on my site, ever -- not in 5.x-1.0, nor in -1.3.

I installed, and it didn't work in my custom built theme, and it also doesn't work in the Zen theme that I am using now (I disabled the CSS in the Zen_Classic stylesheet I'm using and it still doesn't work).

I tried viewing it in Safari 3, Firefox 3, etc. on the Mac.

I would love to use this -- the Safari look field would make my site much nicer. What am I doing wrong?
