Who's Online automatically updated in every 5 seconds

I am a semi-newbie. :-)
I've been trying to search how to make the Who's Online block automatically updated without re-loading the page in every five seconds, but I had no luck so far. Is there anyone who might be able to give me some clues or any useful tutorials?
