I really like the Control Panel module and thought I'd try my hand at updating the icon set. I used the Crystal Clear icons made available by Everaldo to create what I think is a pretty solid set. I've packaged a ZIP download of all the icons with the proper filenames and have a screenshot available on my site here:

Thanks John for the new icons. I like them but my only question is about the license. My understanding was that Crystal icons are LGPL? If so, I may not be able to include them as I think I can only inlcude GPL content on drupal.org. I'm not completely certain about LGPL but from reading the forums it seems that the concensus is strickly GPL only.

If any of the powers at be want to correct me, please do.

I would definatly be interested in coming up with a more complete / full set of GPL'ed icons for the control panel (maybe even several different themes)

I was under the impression they were GPL as I'd seen Crystal Icon Packs on several sites indicated as such... but it appears they may be, in fact, LGPL as you mentioned.

Perhaps we could create a few downloadable icon packs and list them elsewhere (not on drupal.org) in a case like this. I'd be happy to leave it up on my site with a mention of the LGPL status issue.

Thanks John. Per the discussion about GPL and LGPL I've included your icon set as the default. I also added versions for the smaller sizes.

Ok. I never heard back from Everaldo, so I'm guessing LGPL is correct and I think we are ok including it. If I do end up hearing back later, I'll let you know. I'll check out the smaller sizes and perhaps update the icon set to include those sizes. Perhaps we could work together on refining it and adding additional icons. I may do a Nuvola set as well.
