I have just installed the "Tell a friend" module and it sends the emails fine but there is no text in the emails. I went in and looked at the settings on the module and I see no problems. Is this operator error? The module installed fine and shows up as intended. There is just no text fields in the actual email that goes out. I sent my test emails to a yahoo account.

I should also add that the subject text line does not show either (on the email that is received from my site).

I just tested it and it works for me. Could you give me any further details about your settings? Is the message set as editable? Do you have a wysiwyg editor installed?

The only options available that I have messed with is Home » Administer » User management >> Permissions and that is set to "access tellafriend form" for authenticated users. I do not believe I have a wysiwyg editor (and not sure what that is to begin with). The box link is working fine. It even sends the emails but it does not have any text to the body of the email. Nor does it have a subject line in the email.

I am running drupal 6.6. and the only modules i have at this time are;

Ignore User 6.x-1.3
No Request New Pass 6.x-2.0
Poormanscron 6.x-1.0
shoutbox 6.x-1.0
Tell a friend 6.x-2.1 (not functioning properly)

This has to be a user end issue because I just updated Tell A friend and its still doing the same thing.

Do you have the "Send multipart emails (HTML)" option selected? If so, try unselecting it and see if it works that way.

Also, what is the default filter format for your site?

Are you using the 2.x dev version or the stable version 1.4 release?

Also, what is the default filter format for your site?----- Filter? Account authorization is what is comming to mind. That is set to admin authorization only. Beyond that I am not sure. Unfortuantly I am pretty new to drupal and I am a software user. I am still working on understanding the flow of functionality with Drupal still.

I thank you so much for all the feedback thus far. I am really looking forward to getting this function up and running on my site. Release is looking to be first part of the new year.

I'm not sure, whether you are speaking about the same module »tellafriend«?
Or maybe another module?

In my tellafriend version /6.x-2.5) there is no possibility to select message-editing or not.
And I don't know a stable version 1.4.
And where is that "Send multipart emails (HTML)" option to find?

Please tell me, what module you are using.

could it maybe have something to to, that the implementation of hook_submit has been removed for drupal 6.x

because there is an implementation of it in tellafriend.module (line 323).

I have just installed the module and tested it in version 6.8 and I have the same problem as above. The email is sent to the address but the subject and body are blank. the only configuration change made was changing the SMTP server name to my domain server. That didnt work either.

ggaetz's tell a friend module is GREAT. The one most of us were talking about was a totally diferent module. I have switched to ggaetz's Tell A Friend and it is just perfect. Its set up as a seperate page after installed and works PERFECT. Easy to use and set up.
