Hello, I am trying to use Node Relativity Module 5.x-2.4 (http://drupal.org/project/relativity) as a means for my users to create child nodes from existing parent nodes on my site. The problem is that there seems to be a permission issue built into Node Relativity that only allows the parent node author, or users with edit permissions to the parent node to create a child node.

On my site I need all users that have permissions to create child nodes to be able to do so regardless of whether or not they originally authored, or have edit permissions to the parent node. I found a discussion that seems to point to what I want to do here: http://drupal.org/node/231898. This discussion was about version 5.x-2.3 and I’m not sure if this would work the same for version 5.x-2.4, the version I am using. I tried to locate the code that is mentioned in the discussion but couldn’t find it in version 5.x-2.4.

If there is someone who knows how to solve this for me or could at least point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

Hello all, I hate to be that annoying guy that wont go away. But I really need help with this. I have been working on this site for almost 2 years and I am so close to being finished. If I could just get this one thing to work.

I can't help, but I did want to mention that I'm going to be running into this problem as well. I didn't even realize this was going to be a limitation but now I'm realizing I'm going to have the exact same issue! I do hope someone can suggest a way of doing this.

Was the Node Relativity module the only way of doing this? I have been trying to figure out if there's some way of just putting a link beneath a node to create a new node with at least a reference (node reference, via cck) to its "parent" so I can get around this problem. But I haven't figured it out yet.
