Is it possible to emulate Taxonomy list module with views? I want to display for taxonomy/term/1 this:

Subterm 1 - Description of subterm 1
Subterm 2 - Description of subterm 2

The only reason is to minimize the number of modules on my site, but if I don't find a better solution I think I'll use it.

I have very few sites that have Views. Maybe you can live without it.
