I've installed the module and it's completely unclear how to invoke the popup. Even just a 3-line README.txt file would be great, just to say: "Turn on the modules you need. Then hit CNTRL-[foo] to initiate."

You also might explain somewhere how Gears plays into all of this. Is Gears required for this module to work?
