Partial dates in dat

Hi there!

I am using CCK v2.1 and Date v2.0-rc6 to create a date field for a node.

I want to introduce a date with day/month/year. For this, I have selected j/F/Y as the custom input format for the field. Is there a way to introduce only partial dates? For example, if I only know the year of a date I want to submit. Is there a way to introduce only the year and see it in the node?

Right now if I submit only one field (year) leaving the other two (month and day) as blank, the default will be assumed for these two, producing an invalid date. Is there any way to avoid this?
