Nodes that are configured as "only viewable by" a certain access group remain visible as a menu option to unprivileged (and anonymous) users.

Unfortunately menu management is outside the scope of this module.

But I would be willing to look at any patches that add this feature.

The functionality you're looking for seems to be requested in the following issue (for the menu system).

Please add your comments there and try to generate interest in it. I certainly need this as well.
