karma conflict

Hi,

i just discovered why my irc nickname has the lowest karma of all :)
Sometimes my irc client logs me in with user betz-- instead of betz.
So everytime a user answers me with my nickname betz--, druplicon sees that as a karma substraction.

Can this be set so that someone who wants to add karma to a user first has to call druplicon?

PS: i dont know which version druplicon is using, so i set it to version 6.x-1.0
