Please also enable all input formats for the admin role.
- goto to Administer / Site configuration / Input formats
- click Configure for any Input format
- look at Roles section

t-dub commentedI think this would be a handy optional feature. I'd definitely recommend keeping this sort of thing to role-related features in core, however (and honestly, input formats is the only one I'm coming up with right now that is in core). There are hundreds of role-based functionalities in contrib modules that would it would "be nice" if adminrole managed as well, but that seems like it would complicate this nice, simple, useful module a little too much.

Bevan commentedThis is already implied through the 'administer filters' permission

mariuss commentedI am pretty sure 'administer filters' was selected, and still input formats where not automatically available to the admin role.
Administering and using filters are two different things.
Have a look at the "Input Format Permissions" module:

Bevan commentedI can't reproduce the issue. Input filters are available for users with the adminrole role.

wuihung commentedi'm having the same issue.
i set "filtered html" as default input format, "full html" for admin role.
But after that, i'm only able to use filtered html format although i log in as admin.
