I ran in to an issue with the using the distance field in Views2. When I would add lat, long, and distance fields to the view, the lat would get overwritten with the distance and lat would be missing. I'm submitting a patch which fixes this issue.

I cannot confirm your issue, neither in rc2, nor in the latest development release. Are you still experiencing the bug? location_handler_field_location_distance.inc has been modified since rc2.
