[This has been fixed in dev already, but a quick note for others who discover things stopped working once they upgraded... maybe time to roll out new version?]
Incorrect path for the js file: it's a _ not a hyphen: drupal_add_js($path .'/jquery_impromptu.1.5.js');

Once #344630: License Issue with JQuery Impromptu is cleared up, there will be new releases of the module, since JQuery Impromptu has been upgraded to a 1.6 version.
