I have some features which i need to type down before i forgett them. Don't consider this as a rude "please add this" request, I think im going to work on some of the features by my self. i just need to get it down :)

Send messages as role

Lets say you have a role "Forum moderator". Maybe you want to send a warning or information as a represant of the site. Of course this message would be not be reply-able.

Send messages with submission acceptence/declience

Lets say you are validating someones submitted story. If you accept/decline it a pm is automaticly sent with 1) predefined message 2) edited message within the acceptance.

Predefined message could be something like "Hey! Your story/book page/foobar with the title foosheebar has been accepted. Thanks for the submission!"

Pruning

Automactic prune - Inbox and outbox is pruned when they are older than x (some time) If someone would like to keep old messages, save them in folders

Send to role/Send to all

It would be great if a role could have the permission to send to all, especially if they could send the message as the role stated above. Say you have a role "Information" and you could send messages to All roles or selected roles => authenticated, x, y and it would be sent From Information or Admin or what ever floats your boat (as stated above (Send messages as role)). With this you dont need "send to all", since send to authenticated is send to all.

another example. You have the role Admin and you are going to send some information to all your Forum moderators. Just select the role in the contact list. If you want to send it anonymous as Admin and not being able to be replyed, select your role in the From dropdown.

More ideas are welcome. Ill might start with the work of this soon (if not someother feel they have the time to do this because i dont).

I apologize for pinging the participants, i'm closing out old issues. Privatemsg already implements some of these features. Please file a feature request against the latest DRUPAL-6 version if still relevant.
