Description
Heya - after a long time, the 5.x-2.x branch is now back to fully working. While there might be the one or the other minor change still (I consider a theme function for revisions that all backends need to provide), the 5.x-2.x API is pretty much finished and should be ported as soon as possible.
Please have a short look at the alpha1 release announcement and a longer look at the API changes documentation page - there's lots of stuff that should make the backend much cleaner. I'm pretty busy with other stuff, so I can't really help out a lot (unfortunately) with the 5.x-2.x port for the backend. I do hope it'll get done still - with a little luck, the 6.x port will be a breeze afterwards :)

#1
I have finals and final projects for the next week or so, but afterwards I try and get to this.

Cool, thanks!
#3
any update?
#4
Finished finals Monday, have one project left then I'll hit this soon.
#5
Right now it doesn't look like I have a lot of time to focus on this...if someone is interested in porting I'd be happy to review patches and commit them.
#6
I would recommend we finish #303680: Port to 6.x first and then port to 2.x.

As marvil07 and corni are doing the 6.x port and the API changes in one go, let's close this issue in favor of #303680: Port to 6.x.
